Photos and results from the 2010 superDave Invitational
We could not have pulled off this event without our sponsors: AIR CANADA KIDS HORIZONS (Louise Desourdy), KUNSTADT SPORTS (Ron and the gang), CAMP FORTUNE (Peter Sudermann, Frank B, Erin, chef Peter and MC).
Thanks also to our fine judges: Dan A. (Level IV CSIA), UltraDave H. (Level III CSIA), and Frank B. (Level IV CSIA). Thanks also to our Bianca and Louise (syncro judges and computing), as well as Bribe the Judge Kelly, Daniela for registration and ticket sales, and our starters, Spencer and Sandy K.
Last year we had 50 participants and raised $1200. This year we had 47 (there were 84 before weather forced a postponement) and we raised about $2000. Remember the theme: “If we all do a little, we can all do a lot."

If we all do a little, we can all do a lot!
The 2010 superDave Invitational for Camp Trillium (CT) took place held on Sunday, March 28, 2010, at Camp Fortune, just 15 minutes north of Ottawa .This annual fundraiser consists of a four ski events judged by instructors from the Canadian Ski Instructors Alliance. The four judged disciplines are:
- Short radius turns
- Long radius turns
- Skiing through a race course, and
- The highlight of the evening, the Syncro Ski Competition.
Funds are raised through the entry fees paid by participants, the sale of raffle tickets and participant donations. All money raised is donated to Camp Trillium, which promotes recreational experiences to bring children with cancer and their families together.
New this year!
- Air Canada has given the superDave Invitational two tickets to anywhere in North America, the Caribbean, Hawaii, or Mexico to raffle off.
- Syncro Team event participants can now “Bribe the Judge” to improve their scores. (As a participant you are judged/scored by a Level III/IV instructor - we want to get away from timed events.)
- The sDI is advertised primarily by word of mouth, On the 4th of March we did a ski Promo, teaching Stuntman Stu and Sandy Sharkey at CF. This got the sDI some play on 93.9 BOB FM. (Update: Read Stuntman Stu's report here).
- The entry fee has changed. Bring a friend and it will cost you $15 each to enter the event. Come by yourself and it will cost $25. (Discount lift passes also available at time of registration.)
Thank you!
